Am I the only one who - when strolling down memory lane - can taste the exact flavours of a moment all over again? It's like every experience, every feeling, comes rushing back with full intensity. Whenever I think of a specific time in life, especially when tied to a trip or a longer stay abroad, I can instantly recall how I felt, and more vividly, the flavours that defined the moment. It's like memories are intertwined with tastes.
Whether it's a salty breeze of a coastal town, the spicy warmth of a dish in a lively city, or the sweet fragrance of a local dessert. For me, travel isn't just about places; it's about the flavours that become unforgettable markers of time.
And sometimes, it's just something as simple and unexpected as a trip to a local supermarket that leaves a lasting impression or inspires the very first recipe for your food blog. During a language exchange in Letchworth /England, I stumbled upon white chocolate chip cookies for the first time, and was determined to recreate them once I decided to start this website.
For 24 cookies you'll need:
250g butter
1 egg
320g brown sugar
350g white chocolate chips
370g flour
8g baking powder
1/2 ts vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
In a large bowl mix the butter and the sugar first until the mixture gets pale and fluffy . Then add the egg and vanilla extract and mix again until you get an even dough. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt and baking powder. Combine everything in the large bowl, then fold in the white chocolate chips.
If you're not using store-bought chocolate chips, use good quality chocolate and chop it into little chunks.
Scoop the dough (with an ice-cream scoop) into balls and place onto the baking sheet.
Bake the cookies for 15-20 min.
Enjoy!!!
